Flights are of course easier to not miss since it is the only thing that can get you in to a plane. The trickier part is booking a room in a hotel. Keep in mind that all hotels would always have different rates and it will always depend on the season and occasion that the local area is having.

If the company is the one paying for everything, then good for you, but the problem begins if you are the one to shoulder the expenses, like in a personal vacation for example. You need to make sure that you get the reservations ahead of time and if you are planning on going to a place to attend a special event, expect that the cheaper rooms are even more difficult to find. If you can afford to get a vacation during off peak, it would certainly work to your advantage because most of the time, hotels would give big promos and discounts, especially if there are only a handful of people visiting the area.
