I just came back from the world cup and I think that I must be one of the few English people who is not devastated by England’s performance! To be honest it was always going to be a bit strange for me and my mate, because we couldn’t get flights to the stadium where England were playing their games, so we had to make do with matches where we were neutral supporters, and it made us more neutral to the whole thing in a way. Neither of us went out there with much hope of our players performing well either. We had got through the qualifying stage easily but then our group was easy. We consoled ourselves with the fact that we were a long way away from all of the England action, and instead were holed up in the lovely resort of Durban.
