PostHeaderIcon A world cup worth traveling to

I just came back from the world cup and I think that I must be one of the few English people who is not devastated by England’s performance! To be honest it was always going to be a bit strange for me and my mate, because we couldn’t get flights to the stadium where England were playing their games, so we had to make do with matches where we were neutral supporters, and it made us more neutral to the whole thing in a way. Neither of us went out there with much hope of our players performing well either. We had got through the qualifying stage easily but then our group was easy. When England started the group stage against the USA it was clear that the performances just weren’t going to be there.

We consoled ourselves with the fact that we were a long way away from all of the England action, and instead were holed up in the lovely resort of Durban. We had missed out on the right plane tickets but we had managed to track down some very cheap flights to Durban at the last minute. We had presumed that we would then travel up to the right location ,but once we were there, we just wanted to enjoy the spectacle. It was unrealistic to think that England might do well, and we just enjoyed the show from the comfort of our bar stool in a fine establishment in Durban!

Australia is indeed a nice country to visit with all of its majestic Outback and the Sidney Opera House, but mind you, those are not the only places to see in this big continent. Besides those two, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, there is another thing that you might want to lay you eyes on, and that is Queensland. You can simply take Qantas to go there and no worries on the international airfares because there are lots of promos for cheap flights in there. The first place that you might want to visit in Queensland is Brisbane, which is the capital city and home of the Alma Park Zoo. You can also go on a picnic and swim at the Southbank Parklands, or maybe even view the city and coastal region from the Mt Cootha lookout. If you are bringing children with you, Gold Coast should be a good idea as they have all of those amazing theme parks and great white beaches. Currumbin Bird Sanctuary and Sea World are also great for the whole family to enjoy. Then of course, Noosa should be your ultimate destination and enjoy camping in either Cooloola National Park or Noosa National Park.
